This morning JJ and I went to our 36 week appointment and everything seems to be going well. They did the usual, pee in a cup, blood pressure, weight, measure the belly. Everything was pretty good for the most part. My B/P was up a little but the Dr. said it was nothing to worry about. They blamed my weight gain on all the swelling and water retention I have been having, hey I like that excuse! It makes me laugh because when I was eating entire containers of Ben & Jerry's I was not gaining a pound and now at the end of the pregnancy those sneaky pounds keep piling on. The Dr. said she was not worried about it. My belly measured right between 35/36 weeks which is good, no huge baby so far, I hope! We got to meet a new Dr. today, Dr. Rosenberg. I liked her she was nice and she is pregnant too so it is nice to have a Dr. who knows exactly what you are going through. They did the Strep B test on me today too to check for some kind of bacteria that can be passed on to the baby during birth, they said I will get the results next week and if I test positive it will just require me being on an antibiotic during labor. I also had my first internal today. She said she felt the baby's head (down!) and I was a little dilated not even 1 cm yet, but was thinning and softening. I know that really doesn't mean anything but it is nice to hear he is making some kind of progress down there!
The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy with us. We went to south Florida for my baby shower, which was AMAZING. I seriously am one lucky girl to have such wonderful family and friends! The drive was not too fun for me I was pretty swollen once we got out of the car but well worth the drive! Last Wednesday was my 25th birthday. JJ and I took it easy that day just because I am not too much fun at the end of the day so he made me dinner at home which was yummy( as usual)! He also gave me a BEAUTIFUL ring from Tiffany's which I love, and was sooooo suprised!! His thoughtfulness behind it was super cute, he said he bought me silver because silver is tradition for "25", I think it is just for anniversaries but still I was impressed that he even thought of that. I love my Hunny! Saturday we had a small BBQ at our house for the 4th of July with lots of yummy food. Sunday we went to my favorite restaurant Food Glorious Food for my birthday brunch which was fun.
Little man in my belly has been very active lately. He does not really kick at all but does full circles that can be somewhat uncomfortable. I have had some contractions, well that is what I think they are. But nothing too bad yet. Like the Dr. told me this morning, the fun has just begun! I'm hoping to keep him in there for at least another two weeks or so and I don't see that being an issue. The Dr. said they will not do another internal until my 38 week appointment so we will see what kind of progress I have made then. Sleep has been pretty impossible but I guess it is good and preparing me on getting by on only 3-4 hours at a time. I would love to be getting all I can before he gets here but Hunter has other plans for me I see. Oh he also gave me a lovely birthday present that I got this weekend. Stretchmarks on both sides of my Belly button, Thank you son i will love you for them forever..... I guess on the bright side at least he is growing.
We will be full term on Saturday!! I can't believe how soon!!
